Education Ministry

The Community Church offers a variety of educational opportunities for adults - from Sunday morning classes to book studies, speaker series, retreats and more with a variety of programs to enhance and deepen our shared journey on the pilgrimage of faith.

The Adult Education committee welcomes your suggestions and participation. Please email the church office or call the office at 823-2484.

Between Women - Intergenerational Gathering

Between Women meets on the second Saturday of the month. Starting at 8:40 am for a Continental Breakfast with Discussion from 9-11 am.

The next scheduled meeting for Between Women is Saturday, June 8. We will meet in the new Pilgrim Center - in the Chapel and Media Room.

This is our 12th year of celebrating Between Women and we invite all women to join us on the second Saturday each month in the Fireside Room. Each meeting stands independently, our group is fluid, so whether you can attend every month or just occasionally, you are always welcomed by an intergenerational group of gals. We discuss, we share, we listen, we talk, we eat and we have FUN! Please mark you calendars and reserve the second Saturday for Between Women.

Are you new to the Community Church? Would you like to know more about Between Women? Or perhaps you have a friend you would like to bring to Between Women? ALL women are welcome and you need not be a member of the Community Church (or any church!). For more information, please contact Virginia Hughes or Marie Cotton or call the church office at 823-2484. You may also inquire by email.

Schedule

Saturday, June 8

Adult Education Sunday Morning Class

Come at 9:30 Sunday mornings in the Fireside Room for coffee and to discuss the scripture the pastor has chosen for the sermon. We will begin the discussion with a brief insight into the pastor’s view of the passage and pose questions for the group, then we will read the text, discuss it, and then listen to the Sermon with a little more insight and to hear what the pastor has to say. This promises to be a lively discussion and it will be “facilitated” by our team: Gail Thomas, Rosemary Manchester, Harry Sullivan, and Warren Brisbin.

Everyone is welcome - you don’t need to be a Bible scholar, just have the desire to delve into the Bible, one scripture at a time! Please join us from 9:30 to 10:15 Sunday morning in the Fireside Room.

Reader's Circle

The Reader's Circle has just completed a series on the incarceration of Japanese Americans at the outbreak of the Second World War. Watch for information on what the Reader's Circle will explore next.
