Adult Mission Trips
The Community Church of Sebastopol has a long history of community service and it seemed only natural to find a way to reach out to our more distant neighbors in need.
Our youth groups at The Community Church have traveled all over the US on their mission trips, helping communities rebuild, offering help to the elderly, the poor and the underserved and have returned 
to tell their stories of amazing, life-changing experiences. Adults at The Community Church wanted to have that same experience and so our first adult mission trip was organized.
Starting with the first trip in 2001 to Nicaragua to help build schools with Seeds of Learning, to teaming up with Habitat for Humanity in 2012 to help rebuild homes devastated by tornados in Alabama, our adult mission trips seek a different experience each year, but each share in the same satisfaction of reaching out to help someone in need.
We have been to New Orleans several times to help with the devastation from Hurricane Katrina and we traveled to Indiana and Tennessee to help families whose homes were ravaged by floods - each time our team comes back tired and sore, but reenergized.

2013 Adult Mission Trip: Henryville, Indiana
June 16-22
YOU are invited to join our work group to Henryville, Indiana, a small town of 2,000 people that was destroyed by a tornado on March 2, 2012 when a multi-vortex EF-4 tornado hit southern Indiana around Henryville. Few buildings in Henryville were left standing after the tornado. The storm was part of a series of seven tornadoes on March 2 that swept though five Midwest states. View the local news report on the Henryville tornado here. We will be staying at a local church camp, about 30 miles north of Louisville, KY. The trip is scheduled for June 16-22.
The mission trip is a great way to get to know people from the Community Church, visit a new part of the country, and help others in need. The cost of the trip is approximately $500. 2013 Adult Mission Trip application forms are available in the church office or may print application forms here (PDF).
The Mission Trip participants will leave on their jouney very early in the morning on June 16 as we head for Henryville, IN. Keep the group in your prayers for a safe and productive work week! Look for them to return to Sebastopol very late on June 22. Check back soon for updates on the project after the group returns. And who knows, maybe next year you might want to go too!
