Foster Homes Needed throughout Sonoma County Sonoma County Human Services is seeking foster care homes to provide for the physical, emotional and social needs of children in a substitute family setting until the natural family can be reunited or an alternative plan is made for the children. The average length of placement is one year, although foster parents may specialize in short-term emergency care or longer-term placement. Applications are welcomed from both single and married adults, including people who are employed full time. Current needs include foster parents willing to take infants and preschoolers, teens, sibling groups and minority children, especially Latino youth. We particularly need parents who are willing and able to foster children through the reunification process. Children in foster care receive a board and care allowance as well as medical and dental coverage. A social worker provides on going support and guidance. For more information, please call Rita Jacobs, Foster Home Recruiter at (707) 565-4274 Monday-Thursday. |
