May 7 for the annual community fundraiser, The Human Race. The Community Church
will be once again supporting The Children’s Village of Sonoma County as we walk
or run in this wonderful event.
Exciting things are happening at The
Children’s Village, an organization dedicated to building a unique village of
family homes that will provide nurturing, stable family homes for children in
foster care. The Children’s Village is gearing up to break ground on its 2.2
acres on Kawana Terrace Road in Santa Rosa in late spring. Volunteers continue
to put in countless hours planning the Village, working with licensing, raising
funds, planning special events and generally spreading the word. Joe and
Jennifer Montana are also lending a hand as active spokespersons and
fundraisers. A number of corporate sponsors provide on-going support, as do
individual donors. All in all, this is an incredible story of perseverance,
generosity of donated land, countless volunteer hours, creative fund
raising,
and community support to build this village.
