Meet Kristen Anderson
At its December meeting, the Church Council unanimously voted to hire Kristen Anderson as our Youth Program Coordinator. Kristen is currently a student at Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley. She is enrolled in the Master of Divinity program and will have the credits to graduate in December, 2005. She sees working with youth to be a significant component of her future ministry. Although her family is now in North Carolina, Kristen has northern California roots and has been a longtime participant in our church camping program at Camp Cazadero. From 1995 - 2004 she served as a counselor at Caz and in 2002 she was director of the Mid-High camp. She has served as youth director in churches both in California and North Carolina and as been asked to serve as chaplain for the Senior High Feb. Camp in 2005. She also has experience leading confirmation classes, youth worship services, and retreats for all ages. As you can see she brings to our church a wealth of youth leadership experience.
Kristen will work with our youth leaders to plan and coordinate youth activities and events, such as Feb. Camp, the Youth Pasta Dinner & Auction, and both mission trips. She will also work directly with the youth each week. Kristen will work 15-20 hours a week and the plan for now is that she will be with us until the first of June. At that time we will have a mutual evaluation and planning of next steps. Kristen brings great skill, energy and enthusiasm to this position and it is a great joy to have her joining us.
