Notes from the January 30th Meeting
Memorial Hall "rocked" with wonderful brass music, food prepared by our youth and table discussions on "The State of Our Church" at the 115th Annual Meeting of the Community Church held January 30, 2005 in Memorial Hall.
A wonderful feeling of optimism pervaded, even Harry Polley's presentation of our very tight 2005 budget was met with enthusiasm and roundly accepted by voting members.
Table discussions centered on 1) How would you describe our church to a first-time visitor? and 2) What are your two top priorities for our church this year? A representative from each table shared the thoughts and ideas.
Bill Godwin opened the meeting and presided over the election of Board and Committee members nominated and listed in the Annual Report. Kathy Bell was elected Moderator-Elect and Chris Jenkins, Member-at-Large for the Church Council. After a few comments by Gene Nelson, new Moderator Elyse Mengle closed the meeting.
