Chas Moore's culinary journey began as a small child at his mother's side; it led him into kitchens as a teenager and took over his life in New Orleans. From there he worked and studied up and down the East Coast and in France before having his own restaurant in Colorado. While his spiritual path also has followed a wandering path from his upbringing in the Episcopal faith to a rejection of formalized religion in his early adulthood, after closing his restaurant he became a Congregationalist at the Circular Church in Charleston, SC. An epiphany shortly after moving to California made him realize that God was calling him, if he dared listen. He currently struggles to answer that call and bring his spiritual beliefs into his food practices.
