In the Gospel of Matthew 4:18-22, Jesus calls James and John (teenagers) to drop their fishing nets and to embark on a journey with him. James and John do, leaving their family and beginning a journey in which they learn many things from Jesus. We too, are about to embark on a fantastic journey—one in which we will learn about ourselves, each other, and our faith. This truly is a time for new beginnings—some of us are beginning new schools, some of us are looking more deeply at who we are, and still some of us are just trying to get out of bed on time for school. Who are you and where is God leading you? As youth group begins, I hope you will view it as an exciting journey in which you are invited to come along. Please take a close look at the calendar of events and feel free to call me whenever you have questions or ideas! Joining you on this journey we call life—Kristen Anderson
Hope you had a great summer - We will get together on October 2 at noon for a Pizza Party! Bring your parents and we will talk about what we want to do this year.
The Jr. High group will start the year off with a Swim Party! Meet at church at 3PM and we will vanpool to the Stillman home on September 18 for swimming!
Just bring a towel and your swimsuit -- snacks will be provided!

Family Picnic.
There are a lot of fantastic activities and events planned for this year. Bring your family and a dish to share as we meet on the front lawn for a picnic and information meeting. There will be lots of fun games and activities for all—even your siblings! Don’t forget to return your health form for the 2005-2006 year.

Six Flags Marine World
We will leave at 9am and return in the late evening. The cost is $23.00. Tickets must be purchased ahead of time so contact Kristen ASAP to reserve your spot. Or, drop off your money in the office! Make sure your health form is included.

Family Picnic 5-7
Just what is youth group all about? Join us as we have a picnic full of fun, games and plenty of information about the upcoming year. Your whole family is invited, please bring an item to share with others! If you haven’t turned in your health form this is a great time to do so!
October 2
Mission Trip Meeting 6:30-8pm
Costa Rica anybody? Shanya Luther from Benefficio Coffee will meet with us to discuss a possible mission trip to Costa Rica over spring break or early summer. Bring your parents to this meeting. Shanya will give a presentation about the trip and then answer any and all of your questions. We will then decide as a group whether or not this is a trip that God is calling us to make. Student Leadership Roles are open to all high school aged youth. In order to be a student leader, you need to fill out the enclosed form and return it to Kristen. The first student leader meeting will be Sunday October 2 from 3-4pm in Pilgrim House. At that meeting we will discuss what a student leader is and whether or not it is something that you can commit to.
