Day Trip to the

De Young Museum

Join us April 7

The Women’s Retreat Committee is once again hosting a trip, by bus.  This year we will be visiting the newly remodeled deYoung Museum in Golden Gate Park on Friday, April 7th.

The new deYoung houses a permanent collection of American Art (17th-20th century), art from the native cultures of North, Central and South America, the Pacific Islands and Africa, and Textile art of many eras from throughout the world.

A Special Exhibition on display will be:  International Arts and Crafts: William Morris to Frank Lloyd Wright.  (There is an additional $5.00 charge for this exhibit.)

Other exhibits available for viewing are:  Beauty, Prestige, and Power: Textiles and Costume from the Permanent Collection; Novelty and Nostalgia: American Drawings from the Rockefeller Collection; John Bankston: Locating Desire; Personal Perspectives: Aspects of European Photography.

The day will include the bus trip, snacks along the way, admission to the deYoung, a bag lunch, and time to enjoy with friends as you travel from Sebastopol to San Francisco and back!  Weather permitting; we will enjoy our lunch in the Golden Gate Park area and do some sight seeing along the way.  Cost is $60.00 per person (or $65.00 if you want to visit the International Arts & Crafts Exhibit).  The bus will leave at 8:00 am, returning approximately 4:00 pm.  The invitation to join us is open to anyone who would enjoy this type of trip.

Please make your reservations with Linda Roa or sign up in the Church office.  We will take reservations on a prepaid first come first served basis.  Preliminary deadline is March 21st.  Make checks payable to Community Church & designate “deYoung Museum”.   If you are mailing your check to the church office, please include your name(s), address and phone number where you may be reached.
