Lay Ministry Hospitality Worship
Diaconate Subcommittee Opportunities
Our newly reorganized Diaconate sub-committees have a couple of shared positions available to fill. Elyse Mengle would like to share the welcoming/host position with another member – this involves greeting guests and offering first time visitors our gift bag and a welcoming smile. So easy to do and so important for our church and church visitors. Please call Elyse if you would like to help.
We also would like to expand our Parish Callers to include a Meal Coordinator – this position would include calling on volunteers to prepare meals for persons who may need short term assistance due to illness or injury. Please contact Linda Inman to sign up.
And if you are not ready take the position of coordinator, please respond to the orange Sunday bulletin inserts and mark down your preferences of how you can best volunteer your time – just a Sunday a month is all it takes!
Lay ministry includes visits to the sick or shut-in. By coordinating these visits with family members and caregivers, it affords an opportunity for them to be away for errands or respite while you visit. Iva May Prevot is coordinating the Lay Ministry. If you, in the congregation have a need for such help, or know of someone who does, church adherent or not, please contact the church office at 823-2484. Also, if you would like to volunteer as a lay visitor, please contact Iva May who will explain the procedure and protocol and add you to the roster of "lay visitors".
Hospitality serves to reach out to visitors and make a connection - to help visitors feel welcome and want to return and worship with us again. Members of the Hospitality Committee have put together visitor bags to hand out to our visitors and include copies of recent sermons, the church newsletter and youth newsletter as well some goodies and surprises!
The Worship Team consists of our Head Ushers and Communion Coordinators - all designed to help our Sunday worship run smooth.
