Sabbatical for
Rev. Nelson
In case you have not heard, the Church Council has granted Rev. Nelson a one-month sabbatical, beginning Monday, November 13th. He will return to the office on Tuesday, December 14th. He will also return briefly on Sunday, December 3rd to preach and lead worship for the First Sunday of Advent. For much of his time away – 16 days – he will be touring Vietnam with his daughter, Becky. He will leave the country on November 13th and return on the 29th. After December 3rd, he plans to fish for a couple of days on the Trinity River and then spend time with his father, who will celebrate his 80th birthday on December 6th.
While Rev. Nelson is away, Kristen DelMonte will serve as the sabbatical interim, working fulltime for those four weeks. Other ordained ministers in the congregation have agreed to provide her with any back-up support she might need. The Sabbatical preaching schedule will be:

w November 29th – Rev. Brian Plaugher
w December 3 – Rev. Nelson
w December 10 – Rachel Ciupek Reed from PSR
