Adult Education Living the Questions An Adult Study Beginning September 26 7:00 PM Do you have questions about the Bible? How it came to be, the nature of its authority, do we have to take it literally? And what about God, just who was Jesus, what is the meaning of prayer, how might I begin to deepen my spiritual life? If you have such questions, if you feel your faith is more of a journey than a destination, then Living the Questions is for you. Living the Questions is a twelve-week class with a series of DVD presentations and discussion. Leading theologians and biblical scholars, people such as Marcus Borg, Dominic Crossan, Nancy Ammerman, Stanley Hauerwas, John Shelby Spong, and Minerva Carcano, share their reflections on various faith questions, then we have a time for discussion. Reading material for each session will be provided. Rev. Nelson will be the class leader. We are going to meet in two six-week sessions, the first session beginning September 26 and the second session will begin some time after Christmas – probably January or February. We will meet on Tuesday nights, from 7:00 – 9:00 PM in the Fireside Room. The cost will be $15.00 for each six-week session to help cover the cost of materials. Join us for the first introductory session of Living the Questions on Tuesday, September 26th. We will take a week off on October 3rd, then meet Tuesdays – October 10, 17, 24, 31, and November 7. You may sign up in the church office or call 823-2484 if you have questions. |
