From the Pastor
Every year as we approach Launch Sunday – this year on September 17th – I talk about new hope, new energy, new beginnings in the life of our church. And I always sincerely believe that. But this year…well, watch out! I assure you that you will not want to miss any Sundays. Why?
w Christian Education: Kristen is now with us and she and the Board of Christian Education are planning a wonderful Sunday morning education program for our children. If you are the parents of young children, or know families with young children, you are going to want to be a part of this. It all starts on the 17th!
w Music: We have an adult choir, children’s choir, handbell choir, brass choir, jazz group, blue grass group, men in black, women in whatever color they choose. And we are planning to add instruments. If you like a variety of music in worship, and different styles of music, you will want to be with us on Sundays. And yes, it starts on the 17th.
w Media and Art: The wonderful banner at Pentecost was only the beginning. New Launch Sunday banners are already under construction and we intend to expand use of visual art in worship in all the seasons of the church year. Kathy Matthies is already working on this and looking for eager and creative volunteers. We also have plans for our new projector and screen. And yes, it starts on September 17th.
I’m running out of room. I haven’t even gotten around to youth groups, adult education opportunities, both on Sunday and during the week, retreats, fellowship events, and who knows what else.
Am I excited? You bet I am. And I hope you are too. Come, worship, get involved, and become part of the excitement.
