Update
Church finances remained in a strong position at the end of October. The operating balance at the end of ten months was $6595. This was down from the September figure as October expenses exceeded revenues by $3500. There were some quarterly payments in October, such as health insurance, that raised our expenses, and pledge income fell $4000 below our projections. But still not bad, especially when plate offerings continue to exceed projections and year to date expenses remain $2000 below what we projected. Hopefully November and December will be strong months for the church financially and we will finish the year in a strong position.
As this newsletter is being prepared, we are still very early in our stewardship campaign for 2008. Following Consecration Sunday, we had received 107 pledges totaling $198,430 for the operating fund and $14,364 for OCWM. This is a good start, but we still have a way to go to reach our early operating pledge goal of $285,500. December is the month when the budget committee begins finalizing the budget for ’08. So if you have not yet returned your completed pledge card to the church office, please do so as soon as you are able
