The Spiritual Life – a Workshop

The life of the spirit is a given for all of us, though some of us pay more attention to it than other. It has been a part of the journey of life for centuries, taking many forms.
This workshop will talk about the spiritual life and the forms we may find it taking in our lives today. The workshop is for beginners and those more advanced in practice.
As we focus on spirit, our lives tend to grow in richness. You can have a
spiritual experience in church or any formal observance of religion. You can
also have a spiritual experience in any part o
f
your life.
Sharing our spiritual lives tends to enhance them. This can be done in many different ways which we will discuss in the workshop. They may include such things as reading sacred writings, devotional readings, meditation, prayers, walking in nature, focusing on loved ones and listening to the voices from within.
The leader of this workshop will be The Reverend Doctor John R. Simmons. John has his doctorate in Ministry in Spiritual Direction and has been a practitioner for the past 15 years. He is a member of Spiritual Directors International and is involved with a peer supervision group here in Sonoma County on a regular basis.
There is no charge for this workshop, although donations would be appreciated. The workshop is open to any one with a sense of spirit within. There will be ongoing opportunities to continue with this study for those who may desire.
