THE CHILDREN’S VILLAGE CELEBRATES
ONE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!
More than 100 supporters of The Children’s Village came together in August, to celebrate one year of success for the Children’s Village. Fifteen board members acted as tour guides showing off the four children’s homes, three grandparent apartments, the garden, play areas, administrative offices and handsome, permanent displays commemorating TCV donors.
This occasion also marked the
grand opening of the G.K. Hardt Village Center, supported by the donation of
$1,000,000 from the estate of G.K. Hardt in 2006. This multi-purpose room
,
where everyone gathered for a buffet lunch, is the room used by the kids as a
play area. Ping-Pong is one of the most popular games. One corner of the room
holds a library, while another corner has a center for computers. The Village
Center also holds the administrative offices and the art and therapy rooms. It
is fully activated and a wonderful asset to TCV.
Currently 16 children are at home in the Village.
