Women’s Retreat Fun(d) Raiser!

Let’s Go to the Movies……

Movie Locations in San Francisco!

April 11, 2008

Invite your family, invite your friends and join us as we travel to San Francisco for the day and visit sites where some of the classic movies were filmed!

On Friday, April 11th, we will travel by bus to the city where our guide will come on board and show us movie clips (on your own pop down screen!) from some of the many movies shot in San Francisco and then we’re off to visit the site where the movie was filmed!  There is very little walking on this trip - in fact, you can enjoy the entire adventure (except lunch) from your comfy seat in the bus!

Vertigo, Dark Passage, Bullitt, The Maltese Falcon and The Jazz Singer are just of the few the movies filmed in San Francisco.  The tour leader will entertain you with trivia, fun facts and behind the scenes information from a wide variety of films – from the first “talkie” filmed in San Francisco (The Jazz Singer) to the Victorian used in Robin William’s Mrs. Doubtfire.

Lunch will be “on your own” at a site to be determined and the day will end with a visit to Mel’s Diner (where George Lucas’ “American Graffiti” was filmed) for a special treat.

Cost is $55 with a portion of that going to the Women’s Retreat Committee for scholarships.  Sign up in the church office.  Any questions, please contact Linda Roa.
