Community Church Book Group

The next meeting of the Community Church Book Group, sponsored by the Adult Education Committee, will be held in the Fireside Room on Tuesday evening, December 16, at 7 pm. Rosemary Manchester will lead the discussion of the book Unbowed, a Memoir by Wangari Maathai. She is the Kenyan woman who won the Nobel Peace Prize for her project to plant trees and restore the land. The book is on sale in the church office for $10. Please do your best to read the book before the meting, as you will find the discussion much more interesting.
Rosemary Manchester, who leads the group, will share some of her experiences from the years she lived in Africa in the Congo. You could even learn some Swahili phrases. All interested readers are invited to join the group.
The January book discussion will be led by John Simmons on the book The Shack, also available in the church office for $10. The meeting will be Tuesday, January 12, 2009.
