The Church Needs Your Financial Support!
After a strong month of March financially, our operating income slipped in April and did not pick up the first half of May. For April, operating expenses exceeded income by over $7500, leaving us with a month end deficit of $2425. Our total expenses for the first five months of the year were only $1000 over projections, so you can see that the deficit really is an income issue. Pledge income has fallen over $5000 below projections and income from plate offerings has also lagged.
So…as we move into the summer months, please take the time to make sure that your pledge or financial support of the church does not lag behind. It is often true that money is the “unmentionable subject” in the life of the church. But it is also true that in the church, we seek to respond to others as Jesus has responded to us, not on the basis of what we deserve, not on the basis of what is “effective” as the world defines effectiveness, but rather on the basis of how God has loved us – generously, extravagantly, personally. May we be givers as our God is a giver.
