Apple Pies Report
Another year, and another round of Apple Pies – this year and we made 1,675 Gravenstein apple pies, about half sold at the fair and half sold out of our “drive thru” at Memorial Hall. We grossed $17,071 and after paying expenses, we have $11,498 to add to our camping fund. The expenses this year include a one time expenditure for creating a new "lighter" booth for selling the fair - huge thanks to Kathy Matthies!!!
A HUGE thank you to everyone who came out to help with the Apple Pie sale. So, to all the slicers, bakers, boxers, baggers, sellers, assemblers, crimper's, phone callers, dough makers, runners, lunch makers, cleaner uppers, setup and take down crews, drivers, money counters.... WELL DONE! Our camping ministry is going strong thanks to YOU! In 2008 we helped send 47 children to Camp Caz using $6,800 out of the Apple Pie Scholarship funds.
As successful as this event was, there is always room for improvement. If you have ideas on what we might do better next year, or what worked especially well this year, please write your comments down and put them in the Apple Pie box in the church office. Thank you! Kathy Bell
