Book Discussion Groups
To Meet During the Day and evening
The Community Church now offers TWO Book Groups, EVENING and AFTERNOON, for your convenience. The same books will be discussed in each group, in the same sequence
The EVENING session of the Book Discussion Group will not meet in March. Instead, we urge one and all to participate in the Tuesday evening weekly Soup Suppers and presentations of Faith Journeys, sponsored by the Adult Education Committee at the Community Church.
And you can get a head start on your reading for the next meeting of the Evening Group, on Tuesday evening, April14 at 7 PM in the Fireside Room. The book, GILEAD, by Marilynne Robinson, is available in the church office for $11.50.
On April 21 at 7 PM, John Simmons will lead the long-awaited session on The Shack, Where Tragedy Confronts Eternity by Wm. Paul Young. A few copies of this book are still available in the church office for $10.
The first meeting of the AFTERNOON Book Discussion Group will be on Tuesday, March 3, from 2 to 4 PM in the Fireside Room. The book is THREE CUPS OF TEA, One Man's Mission to Promote Peace, One School at a Time, by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin. The book is available in the Church Office for $10. It is a true story, described by Tom Brokaw as "Thrilling . . .proof that one ordinary person, with the right combination of character and determination, really can change the world."
