Stewardship & Consecration Sunday
The
week of November 8th, all the households in the church will receive a pledge
card for 2010. Hopefully you
can see the pledge card as and opportunity and invitation to give careful – and
prayerful – consideration to your financial support of the church in the coming
year. Our church has several sources of income, but the overwhelming percentage
of our financial support comes from each of you. As we think about our support
of the church, the goal is not success – numbers and money and bottom lines.
The goal is faithfulness…our faithfulness to the many ministries of our church,
our faithfulness to the God who so richly blesses us each and every day. May
this be a time of year when each of us is challenged, encouraged and drawn
toward a hopeful future, all in the context of joy and love.
Sunday, November 22nd, will be our CONSECRATION SUNDAY. On that day, you are invited to bring your completed pledge card to worship for a time of blessing and consecration. The church will be decorated for Thanksgiving, the brass will play, the choir will sing, Rev. Nelson will reflect on giving thanks and setting priorities, and following the worship service, we will gather in the courtyard for music, pumpkin pie and celebration of our shared and growing ministry.
