Welcome to another exciting Sunday School year at the Community Church of Sebastopol. This year is full of great learning opportunities that include focusing on biblical stories and finding ways in which we are a part of God’s world. The children will engage in vibrant educational opportunities and learn about specific rituals and traditions that are sacred to our church. And this all begins on Launch Sunday, September 13!
Nursery Care: Debbie McCallum will continue as our Nursery Care Coordinator with the help of Erin Butterfield, Leila Salera, Elise Peterson and Emma DelMonte. Children up to age four are welcome to stay in the nursery during worship time. As always, children are also welcome to stay in the worship service with their families.
Pre-School Sunday School (ages 3 & 4): Children ages 3-4 will begin with their parents in the worship service and after the children’s message, walk with their teachers to Room # 1. Two teachers will engage the children in Bible stories, prayer time and play. The teachers for this class are Noelle Rudolph, Breanne Robert and Jenna Evans. This is a great transition class from the nursery to the Sunday School program.
Kindergarten-First-Second Grade: After the children’s message in the Sanctuary, children in K-1&2nd grades will meet with their teachers in Fellowship Hall. The children plus their teachers will take part in the Buzzed curriculum this fall. The children will learn Bible stories, pray together and find ways to apply God’s Word to their lives. The teachers for this class are Irma Bachelor, Lucas Trevino, Laura Jame and Janine Acevedo.
Third-Fourth-Fifth Grade: Children will once again meet in Room # 4 and participate in the Rock Solid curriculum. Children will use the Bible and engage in games and challenge activities to reinforce the lesson. This class will also participate in a special session focusing on Communion and will participate in Communion in the fall. The teachers for this class are Joan Mitschelen and Pat Dilley.
Rachel Knuth will serve as Sunday School Coordinator until I return from maternity leave in October. Please call 823-2484 ext.14 if you have any questions and Rachel will be glad to help.
