Update
At our Annual Meeting in January, the congregation authorized the Board of Trustees and the Church Council to transfer money from the Endowment Fund to the Operating Fund to help meet operating expenses in what looked to be a financially challenging year. In July a transfer of $12,583 was made. This money, plus some interest income from another account and a good month from pledge revenues, meant that in July we almost wiped out our operating deficit. We finished the month with an operating deficit of “just” $695. But it will take ongoing financial faithfulness from all of us to ensure the deficit does not return.
Revenues from pledges have actually remained strong for the year. After seven months, pledge income was running over $11,000 ahead of projections. This was offset to some extent by lagging plate income and less than expected revenues from Memorial Hall. Operating expenses were about $200 below projections, so we are remaining within our budget.
