World Vision’s: STEP INTO AFRICA

From Tuesday, May 25th through Monday, May 31st, World Vision, a Christian Humanitarian Organization working with children and families throughout the world, will present Step into Africa: Can You Survive the Journey of a Child?   This is an interactive visit in which you actually walk in the steps of a child as he/she struggles to survive in an AIDS-affected community in Africa.  The experience will be in the Garrett Building at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds, from 10 AM to 8 PM each day.  There is no admission cost, but reservations are recommended.  Visit www.worldvisionexperience.org/sonomacounty for reservations and more information including how you can volunteer to help at this event.  This 30 minute experience might very well change everything you thought you knew about the AIDS crisis.  It is not recommended for children under ten.

The Community Church has reservations for two time slots and can we carpool over to the Sonoma County Fairgrounds from the church.  On Wednesday, May 26, meet at the church at 11 AM we will return about 12:15 or on Thursday, May 27, meet at the church at 6 PM and we will return about 7:15 PM.  Please call the church office if you would like to participate in either of these groups and if you have room to take passengers with you – 823-2484 or send Karin an email: office@uccseb.org.
