Kristen writes: We are having a great time, there are more giggles and smiles than tears so I think that is a good thing.  On Monday we did activities at a long term care facility called Hacienda.  Then we gleaned trees.  Tuesday we worked at a food bank, a homeless dining hall and a warehouse for clothes for the homeless called St. Vincent De Paul.  The food bank was called St. Mary's and it was the first one in the world.  Very interesting!  Wednesday we worked at the homeless dining hall and gleaned more trees.  Then in the afternoon we hiked the mountain behind the church--some of us even made it to the top!  Today (Thursday) we are off to the city of Glendale to do some work for them.

On Friday Kristen writes: These are from the Manistee Ranch which is a old mansion now museum in Glendale.  We painted fences, stained benches, picked fruit and cleaned really old appliances and dishes.  We also saw some dead scorpions (no one told me though, they just showed up on my camera!)
