Our Worship Together
The heart of our church life is our worship together. All of our many
activities and ministries grow out of our rich worship life.
Sunday worship is at 10:30.
Services are led by Rev. Gene Nelson. The preaching is thoughtful
and challenging.
Communion is celebrated once a month, usually on the first Sunday of the
month. Since all of us stand in need of God's mercy, we practice open
communion. Whether you are baptized or not, a member of this church or
not, you are welcome to join in communion.
Childcare is always available during the service. Children join parents in the
beginning of the service and leave after the children's message to go to their
classes/activities.
A variety of uplifting music is offered in worship. Our Director of
Music Ministries is Brian Plaugher. Brian directs the chancel choir and Andy
DelMonte directs the
children's choir. Other leaders are organist Darryl Fenley, bell choir
leader Karna Roa, and brass choir leaders Frank Jilka.
A variety of guest soloists also sing and play. The hymnal we use was
selected for its variety and inclusiveness of old and new music.
During Advent and the Christmas season, we have special family activities
and worship services. There are three Christmas Eve candlelight
services. At the beginning of Advent, families can make an advent wreath
with candles at the Advent Event. We have Shoebox and mitten
ministries for the homeless, offer Alternative Gifts giving, etc.
During Lent and Holy Week, we also have a variety of activities and worship
services. We meet for soup suppers and faith journeys during Lent, and have
services on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and two services on
Easter morning.
Please join us on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. - we'd love to meet you!
