Calling All Women for the 2018 Women's Retreat. Please plan on joining us for a wonderful weekend, in a relaxing setting with a fabulous facilitator!
- Date: January 12-14, 2018
- Location: Westminster Woods, Occidental
- Facilitator: Rev. Charlotte Asher
- Theme: The Bible Speaks to Us Today
You are invited and encouraged to join us for a wonderful weekend beginning with Friday dinner until after worship on Sunday morning. There are a few openings for Saturday only.
THEME: The Bible Speaks to Us Today
We will have the opportunity to take a fresh look at Bible stories in a in a nontraditional way. The ideas for this theme come from a book by Rob Bell titled What is the Bible. You will find comfort and support in God’s presence within you, in the Bible and in the people around you.
FACILITATOR: Reverend Charlotte Asher
Charlotte was raised in the Community Church! She is a minister, special education teacher, has worked as the conference camp coordinator and enjoys farming. She is an excellent retreat leader, as many of you already know!
The time at retreat is yours to do as you wish. Nothing is mandatory! Sessions are no longer than 2 hours, with breaks and lots of interaction with others or alone time. There is free time to walk, sleep, chat, and there are always table games with lots of fun and laughter.
FACILITY: We will be at Westminster Woods, a lovely center in the Redwoods between Occidental and Monte Rio. We will have three deluxe houses that sleep between 7-10 people and 2 semi-deluxe cabins. All rooms are shared. There is parking near each house and it is possible to drive or walk to the dining room and meeting room.
Fees are non-refundable after December 31st.
SCHOLARSHIPS are available for ANYONE who wishes to attend (you don’t have to be a part of the church family). Scholarships will be limited to a maximum of $135 of the $185 fee. Payment of your portion can be made monthly so long as it is paid prior to the next retreat. Those who receive a scholarship will be asked to participate in one or more fundraising events. Scholarship information is kept confidential. Contact either Jane Huneke or Joyce Cox.
Registration forms are available now in the church office, or you can download your registration form right here!
